"I didn't have to change the company in order to develop myself. I was able to take a new path at RAUMEDIC." Christian Kaiser

Hi Christian, tell us a little bit about yourself

I am 29 years old, married and father of a seven-month-old son. I started at RAUMEDIC three years ago in product development. In October last year, I changed into a new role as an Onboarding Manager.

What exactly does an Onboarding Manager do?

I coordinate the professional and social integration of employees into our production environment. This is all done in close cooperation with our qualification manager. In addition, I take note of dissatisfactions and challenges of current employees and refer them to the appropriate contact person. Here again, there is also a close cooperation with HR.

To put it simply: I am the contact person for all colleagues in the plant Helmbrechts who need a sympathetic ear and advice on a wide range of topics.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

The first day of each month is most exciting - that’s the day we welcome the new employees of the plant. They make a tour of the company, get to know the products, and receive trainings.

All the other days are very different: As part of the onboarding process, I have a lot of feedback meetings to ask about employer satisfaction and the status of the onboarding process. In addition, I am always in close contact with our executive managers to understand the specific challenges in the departments and to find approaches to solving them together.

What motivated you to make the move from product development to the COO area?

I did a technical apprenticeship and I have worked in technical environments for over 12 years. From production to product development, I have passed through different stations. During my project work with different customers and departments, I realized that I especially enjoy working with people. That's why I decided two years ago to start further education as a psychological counsellor. In the course of time, I also completed an additional education as a burnout/stress prevention consultant.

When RAUMEDIC started to search for the position of an Onboarding Manager, I had the feeling that I could perfectly combine my previous knowledge and my further training here. That's why I applied. And it worked out 😊

The position Onboarding Manager is new in the company, what are the first reactions?

I’m getting a lot of support from all directions and everybody is open-minded. Above all, my supervisor has a lot of trust in me. I think this position is important for the company, because on the one hand you can pass appreciation in a short way, but also get feedback on where we still need to develop as a company.

What excites you most about RAUMEDIC?

I didn't have to change the company in order to develop myself. I was able to take a new path at RAUMEDIC. I can identify myself with the company's goals and I like the fact that we make an important contribution to life with our products.

What would you do with an extra hour a day?

That's easy. I would dedicate the time to my family.
