"We manufacture everything on a customer-specific basis, as cell therapy requirements are always different." Nadja Meussgeier

Hello Nadja, please introduce yourself briefly to our colleagues.

My name is Nadja Meussgeier, I am 26 years old. In 2015, I started studying to become a bioanalyst and graduated with a master's degree at the end of 2021. Core contents were topics from the pharmaceutical, medical and biological area. During my studies, I realized that I would like to specialize in medical technology or pharmaceuticals. Since I like to express my creativity, doing pure laboratory work was out of question for me. I am also interested in product as well as project management. Therefore, I continued my education in these areas. In my free time, I like to go jogging in the nature of the Franconian Forest or to be creative – doing photography or painting.

Since March last year, I am part of the RAUMEDIC family. I feel very comfortable in my team, and I really like my job in product management. There, I am responsible for the cell and gene therapeutic area, which, in addition to drug delivery and pharmaceutical fluid handling, is part of the pharma context and is therefore subject to certain regulations. I can apply my knowledge from my studies perfectly to my day-to-day work.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

Every day looks different. At the moment, I have a lot of customer meetings. My job is to find out more information about cell therapy applications like the one of CAR-T cell therapy, cell sorting or culturing. CAR-T cell therapy is currently used for various types of blood cancer, in which genetically modified CAR-T cells are given back to the patient via an infusion. Here, for example, our tubes, tube sets, connectors, and bags play an important role. We manufacture everything on a customer-specific basis, as cell therapy requirements are always different. I have also carried out a market analysis for the cell and gene therapy sector, which forms the basis for a possible campaign. I also support my colleagues by researching project-related topics, e. g. concerning the pharmaceutical sector or materials.

What particularly excites you about your work at RAUMEDIC?

What excites me about my work at the company is that, for the most part, I can combine and live out the content of my studies with my creativity. I particularly like being responsible for my own specialist area, which is fun and interesting every day. I can also exchange ideas with my colleagues and expand my own knowledge. By attending various trade fairs and congresses, I can also build up and expand my own network of people.

You haven't been that long at RAUMEDIC: Why did you choose RAUMEDIC as an employer?

RAUMEDIC as an employer offers me proximity to home and is above all a future-oriented company. There is a relaxed atmosphere, people communicate openly with each other, and I can make a contribution to the further development of medical technology by carrying out my job. In addition, there is a great training program, and you can contribute your own ideas at any time.

What would you do with an extra hour in the day?

I like any kind of physical exercise - whether it's jogging, biking or strength training - to balance out my day at the office.

Finally, please describe RAUMEDIC in three words:

Innovative, versatile, and open to new things.
