"At RAUMEDIC, I am inspired by the wide range of development opportunities and the attractive working atmosphere." Christian Vogler

Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Christian Vogler, I am 38 years old, and I live with my wife and two children in Schauenstein. I started my journey with RAUMEDIC 17 years ago with an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration, and since then, I have contributed to the expansion of the SAP landscape over the years.

Currently, I work as an "SAP Enterprise Architect," where I assess business requirements and create solution approaches, including process optimizations or the implementation of new software solutions. Additionally, I must consider the company's strategy and stay updated about trends in the IT sector.

What does a typical workday look like for you? Why is S/4HANA such an important RAUMEDIC project, and what is it exactly?

There is no typical workday for me – my agenda varies every day, and that's a good thing! Due to my strong project focus, agility is crucial here. 😉

S/4HANA is the new, innovative ERP system from SAP that enables faster processing and consumption of massive amounts of data. The goal is to modernize our current SAP ERP system ("R/3"). Business processes should become more digital and cover the entire system landscape "end-to-end." This allows RAUMEDIC to operate more efficiently and, consequently, be more competitive. For RAUMEDIC the introduction of S/4HANA brings the significant opportunity for many process automations and a chance to rethink current processes.

Why did you choose to work in IT? What motivated you?

IT has always been my hobby. I don't mean programming specifically but technology in general. I also benefit from this personally, for example, in optimizing and tracking my fitness through a smartwatch or controlling my house through various smart home devices.

At RAUMEDIC, I am excited about the diverse personal development opportunities, rapid growth, and the attractive working atmosphere that has developed in recent years. Additionally, being from the nearby area of Helmbrechts, RAUMEDIC offers me the chance to work close to home.

How do you maintain a good work-life balance?

The option of remote work provides me with flexibility, allowing me to seamlessly integrate family life and work. Consequently, it's no problem to use lunch breaks for jogging or spend time with family and friends right after work.

What/who inspires you?

I don't have a specific role model in a professional context. I am active on social networks like LinkedIn, where I draw inspiration from the fields of SAP, technology, or AI and actively post about these topics.

In my personal life, my kids inspire me. They see the world with different eyes than adults and find joy in the simple things in life. We should take more inspiration from that.

What are you looking forward to in your current position in the future?

I am looking forward to the two upcoming RAUMEDIC major projects: SAP S/4HANA and SAP Digital Manufacturing.

Do you have a specific routine or life hacks you'd like to share with your colleagues?

I usually start work around 8 am. I make sure to tackle challenging tasks at the beginning - between 8 and 9 am, I have the best concentration. Additionally, I schedule focus times on my calendar to work more efficiently.

In 2024, at RAUMEDIC, our theme will be "Leading the future."
What is your contribution to living our value of "Leading the future"?

I always try to think about the SAP landscape of tomorrow. How can we further develop it to quickly respond to your requirements and provide support through software solutions.

In line with the motto,

"The crucial question is not what we should do tomorrow, but rather, what we should do today to prepare for tomorrow." (Peter Drucker)
