Silicone stopper for syringe systems
Interest in reducing the well-known shortcomings of the plunger in three-part syringe systems has been growing in the medical and pharmaceutical industry for years. These include the very often high breakaway force of the stopper in the syringe body the first time it is used, as well as its high sliding friction and "stick-slip effect".
RAUMEDIC AG as a system supplier has now succeeded in reducing the breakaway force and sliding friction in comparison to the sealing solutions now available on the market by means of an overall optimised syringe system with optimised material combinations: in-house laboratory tests show values reduced by over 50% with identical test design and parameter settings. Depending on the customer-specific syringe system solution, the level of the "stick-slip effect" in the unsterilised state is already significantly lower.
