The outdoor event was primarily designed to help the members of the group get to know one another and served as the focus of the morning. To facilitate communication, the group headed off on an orientation hike through the woods after lunch. The group was broken down into two teams. Each group was also given a walkie-talkie. A guide who knows the area well was also assigned to one group. The guide knew the destination that had to be found. With his help, the first team had to direct the second group to a particular location. Thanks to successful collaboration, everyone met up at the agreed-upon site.
Ina Reuther said the team building exercise showed that mutual trust and communication can lead to successful results. The HR assistant at Raumedic organized the event and accompanied the career starters throughout the day. “Our primary goal was to enable our trainees to get to know one another,” she said. “The event also built a strong foundation for future collaboration and created a positive feeling in the trainee team.”
