After a short warm-up, the event started in the morning at the municipal sports ground in Münchberg, Germany. The walking and running distances offered (6, 9, 13 and 21.5 kilometers) were suitable for all ages and fitness levels and led on forest and farm tracks through wonderful autumn landscapes. The event ended in the afternoon with a cake buffet and a tombola.
With 102 participants, Raumedic was again the largest team in 2017 which was honored with an award for the team.
The Walkathlon has been organized by the gymnastics club Münchberg since 2003 and takes place annually in October. Participation is open to all sports enthusiasts.
