Like in Germany, RAUMEDIC will manufacture polymer based products for the medical device and pharmaceutical industry at this new high-tech facility. The production is planned to begin as early as January 2016 with over 50 staff members. This number will gradually increase to over 100 in the areas of production, engineering, research & development, sales and marketing and management.
RAUMEDIC will invest in total 27.1 million US dollars in the Mills River facility. Much like ten years ago in the headquarters in Helmbrechts, a two-story administration and production building is being built on the green field site.
RAUMEDIC has more than 60 years' experience in extrusion, injection molding and assembly. Selected cutting-edge technologies include micro extrusion with an interior diameter of 0.004” (0.1 mm) and a multi-layer structures including encapsulated radiopaque stripes, mulit-component injection molding with hard/soft combinations, film blowing and the fully automated assembly processes including 100% camera inspection. RAUMEDIC processes all common medical-grade thermoplastics and silicone. These include high temperature polymers such as PEEK, FEP and PTFE. RAUMEDIC will implement these technologies at its new location according to customer's needs.
