The new center, named Emilio, is located in the heart of the city on the site of a former textile factory. Its name was inspired by the Emilia childcare center in Hof, whose building is almost identical to the new facility. Children at the Helmbrechts childcare center now have access to imaginative and carefully designed rooms across two light-filled floors. Workshop and studio spaces also inspire crafting and creative design ideas.
The opening ceremony was attended by district administrator Dr. Oliver Bär as well as Thomas Engel, vice president of the government of Upper Franconia, and the mayor of Helmbrechts, Stefan Pöhlmann. They all offered their best wishes to the childcare team.
With an investment totaling €2.7 million, the construction project was completed in a record time of just ten months. The center opened in mid-September and has space for up to 74 nursery and kindergarten children.
