Due to our in-house compounding and expertise in various extrusion technologies we are able to offer individualized customer solutions. A permanent high product quality can be sustained since we regularly conduct quality inspections.

In a clean room production area of about 8,000 m² (ISO class 7) large production quantities can be manufactured most accurately and reliably with the help of state-of-the-art production systems.

The Extrusion/Tubing business unit develops and produces tubing for many areas of application in medical technology and pharmaceuticals. With over 60 years of extrusion experience, we provide our customers with extensive support from material selection and process engineering to technical application consulting.

In factories in Helmbrechts and Feuchtwangen, RAUMEDIC uses cutting-edge extrusion and measurement technology to produce high-quality, technically superior tubing "Made in Germany". Production is oriented to the requirements of medical technology, and takes place entirely within ISO Class 7 clean rooms.

The materials that we use are tailored to specific customer requirements and applications using our own formulations.

RAUMEDIC uses its own compounding of medical grade PVC formulations. Cutting-edge processing technology ensures consistant product quality and the best possible supply reliability.

Our extrusion lines are specially set up and qualified for use in clean rooms and for producing medical and pharmaceutical products. The dies and extrusion heads are conceived, developed, and qualified exclusively in our in-house tooling shop. Cutting-edge in-line measurement technology ensures a high level of process capability.

We manufacture all types of tubing, including single-layer tubing, welded double or triple tubing, and multi-layer tubing made of all common thermoplastic materials and silicone. We are able to produce very small dimensions and very tight tolerances.

Thin-walled tubing, such as polyurethane, for example, is very well suited for balloon applications. The extrusion of microtubing requires special monitoring by experienced employees. Diameters on the order of a human hair can be achieved.

Multilayer extrusion is used in the manufacture of composite tubing. Up to 4 individual material layers can be coextruded one over the other. This technology is also used to integrate X-ray contrast or color marking strips.

Braided tubing is especially good for meeting high pressure requirements. A completely different technology is blown film extrusion. It’s used to produce layflat tubing for processing into feeding bags.

Silicone tubing is characterized by excellent biocompatibility and reliable shape recovery in pump applications. They are therefore ideally suited for use in medical technology and the biopharmaceutical industry.

Depending on customer requirements, tubing products can be supplied as wound coils, spools, or fixed lengths. Packaging is optimally matched to the logistical requirements of our customers.
